Beginning of work. Web client user

Authorization

To work in VMS, open your browser and go to the address of the VMS surveillance system.

As a result, the login page will be displayed, where you need to enter the username and password for your account.

The Authorization page

The following items are also displayed on the form:

  • Language switcher.

  • A button to log in through an external resource. When the button is pressed, a new browser tab opens on the external resource's login page.

  • The button to download the mobile apps and the Desktop client of VMS.

Depending on the system settings, an additional field for entering an alphanumeric code (captcha) may be displayed on the screen.

Entering the code during authorization in the web client

The code consists of uppercase and lowercase letters of the Latin alphabet (except the letter O) and numbers from 1 to 9.

If you have difficulty reading the displayed characters, click Update to automatically generate a different code.

If the code is entered incorrectly, a corresponding message will be displayed on the screen, and the authorization will not be successful.

When you select the download button, you’ll be redirected to the page where you find:

  • QR codes and links to download the mobile apps:

    • For devices with Android OS.

    • For devices with iOS OS.

    • For Huawei devices with Android OS.

  • The Download Desktop app button to download the VMS Desktop client.

  • The link to the product documentation.

Launch PWA in Google Chrome

Below, you find an example of how to launch PWA in Google Chrome.

A toolbar is presented at the top of the window.

The panel includes:

  • A logo. When clicked, it takes you to the Cameras section with the last viewed camera layout.

  • The left-side panel. Description for each section is provided below.

  • The sidebar open button. Also includes an analytics event counter.

  • A user avatar. When clicked, it displays a menu for language selection and program exit.

Sidebar

When you click the Events button, a sidebar is displayed on the right side of the workspace. The panel displays analytics events for which the Show camera in sidebar reaction was set. To close the panel, click the Events button again.

The sidebar with analytics events screenshot

You can move the sidebar to any location on the screen within the web client interface. To do this, move the cursor over any free space on the sidebar, hold down the left mouse button and move the sidebar.

The sidebar provides an event filter by type of analytics. You can select one or more values to display only matching events on the sidebar.

For each type of analytics, no more than 30 events are displayed. If this number is exceeded, older events are replaced with new ones.

Selecting the event name takes you to the event on the analytics case page.
