Getting started with VMS after installation

With the platform successfully deployed and the VMS components installed, your video surveillance system is now ready for advanced configuration. The intuitive Administrator interface offers comprehensive control over every aspect of the system, ensuring a seamless and efficient setup experience.

To get start with the system, perform several key steps:

  • Log in to the Administrator interface.

  • Set up the Mediaserver.

  • Add cameras to the system.

  • Create user accounts.

  • Set up the Analytics module (if this module is added).

Log in to the system

To log in to the Administrator interface, follow the steps:

  1. In the web-browser, enter the URL address, where X.X.X.X – is the IP address of your installation.

https://X.X.X.X/admin

  1. On the opened page, use the default credentials:

Once logged in, you can change the credentials.

Set up the Mediaserver

The next step is to add and configure the media server through the administrator interface, if this has not already been done.

The Mediaserver – is a key component designed for receiving and managing streams from cameras. It processes all multimedia data, ensuring the capture, encoding, storage, and transmission of video, audio, and metadata streams. For details, see the Add mediaserver documentation page.

Add cameras to the system

Once the mediaserver is configured, you can proceed to the next stage of system setup – adding cameras and video streams. At this point, the video surveillance system begins receiving and processing video data from the connected cameras.

Camera addition is the process of integrating each camera into the centralized management platform, enabling real-time video streaming, archive recording, stream parameter configuration, and interaction with other system components. For details on how to manually add cameras to the system, refer to the Add a camera documentation article.

Create user accounts

To provide users with access to the video surveillance system, create individual user accounts and share the corresponding login credentials with them. For details, refer to the Users documentation section.

Example of a credentials notification form:
Platform URL: Example Domain
Username: user123@example.com
Password: qweasdzxc
Account valid until: June 30, 2025

Set up the Analytics module

If the Analytics module is connected, it must also be initialized through the Analytics administrator module. For detailed instructions, refer to the First run and configuration of the Analytics documentation page.
