Desktop client user guide
This section provides instructions for operating the VMS Desktop client. The Desktop client is only available for Windows OS.
Technical specifications and requirements for the operating system
Minimum computer requirements:
Windows 7 (with the latest Service Pack) and above
DirectX 9 and above
4 GB RAM or more
NVidia GeForce 1 GB graphics card
Intel Core i5 7th generation processor (Intel Core i5-7xxx) and above
Recommended computer requirements:
Windows 10 (with the latest Service Pack) 64-bit
DirectX 11 and above
16 GB RAM or more
NVidia GeForce 4 GB graphics card
Intel Core i5 6th generation processor (Intel Core i7-6xxx) and above
Playback of a single video stream:
HD Quality (1920x1040) ~ 4 Mbps, 10 MB RAM
SD Quality (640x480) ~ 0.3 Mbps, 4 MB RAM
Playback of six video streams:
HD Quality (1920x1040) ~ 25 Mbps, 200 MB RAM
SD Quality (640x480) ~ 3 Mbps, 80 MB RAM
