The list of layouts is intended for creating and configuring camera layouts and groups of layouts. Also from this list, you can open the layout for viewing, open in a separate window, etc.
Each layout contains a set of templates with a different number of cameras – from 1 to 49 and allows for simultaneous viewing of the selected cameras.
In the Archive/DVR mode, templates with a number of cameras of no more than 16 are available. If the limitation is enabled in the application settings – up to six cameras are available for a template (a detailed description is given in the Archive section).
By default, layouts are sorted by a creation date, starting from the latest.
Add a layout and select cameras
You can add a new layout in the Live and Archive/DVR sections in one of the following options.
Option #1
in the Live and Archive/DVR sections, the Main layout is displayed by default and can’t be closed. You can start adding new layouts directly from this layout. A newly created layout will open in a new tab and can be closed.
To create a new layout, follow these steps:
Open the Main layout.
Select a template for a new layout, taking into consideration the required number of cameras.
Left-click the camera section where you’ll add a camera. The selected camera section will be highlighted green.
Add a camera to the selected section in one of the following ways:
From the All cameras list, select a camera and left double-click it.
Drag-and-drop a camera from the All cameras list.
In the camera section, choose the Select a camera action link, and, from the opened drop-down list, select a camera. Confirm your selection.
To save this newly created layout, select the Save layout button.
In the opened form, enter the layout name that must be unique.
During the process of a layout creating, it is recommended to save the layout before transitioning to another layout. Please note, if you switch to a template layout that has fewer camera sections, any cameras exceeding the number of sections in the new template will be removed from the layout.
After creating a layout, it is recommended to update the list of layouts.
Option #2
Hover over All layouts and select the Create layout (plus) icon.
In the opened form, enter the layout name and confirm the action
Search for a layout
The search is performed by the name of the layout. As you enter a name, only the corresponding layouts are displayed in the list. The found layouts are displayed:
In the All layouts group.
In the groups created by the user (if there is a group with a layout).
The context menu
To call the context menu, hover over the layout and right-click or click on the three dots to the right of the layout name. The context menu contains the following actions:
Open – open the layout in the work area for viewing.
Open in new window – open the layout in a separate window on the current monitor.
Open on monitor – open the layout in a separate window on another monitor.
Open in full screen – open the layout in full screen mode.
Rename layout.
Add layout to group.
Delete layout.
Below, find a detailed description of the functions.
Open a layout
The Open context menu item allows you to open the selected layout in the work area to view the layout’s cameras.
You can also open a layout by double-clicking the left mouse button on the layout name.
Open in new window
The Open in new window context menu item allows you to open the selected layout as a separate window on a free monitor (if more than one monitor is connected) or on the main monitor if there are no free ones.
Each layout can only be opened in one separate window.
After selecting a menu item, the layout will open as a separate window. The sidebar and top menu are hidden. In this case, all player controls and other functions are displayed.
If the layout has already been opened in the workspace, then when you select the Open in a new window menu item, a warning:
When you click OK, the layout will be opened in a separate window and closed in the work area. After closing the window, the layout is displayed again in the application workspace.
You can also open the current layout in a separate window using the button on the toolbar.
Open on monitor
The context menu item Open on monitor allows you to open the selected layout in a new window on a separate monitor.
After selecting a menu item, the monitor selection form is displayed. Each monitor is identified by a serial number and name set in the operating system. Select the desired monitor and click Open layout.
As a result, the layout will be opened as a separate window on the specified monitor. The sidebar and top menu are hidden. In this case, all player controls and other functions are displayed.
You can also open the current layout on another monitor using the button in the upper right corner of the work area.
If the layout was opened in the workspace, then after opening it in a new window, the layout is not displayed in the workspace. After closing the window, the layout is displayed again in the application workspace.
How to determine the monitor number
Click Start > Settings and select System. Next, select the Display section. Below the displays, click Define. As a result, each monitor will display its number.
Open in full screen mode
The context menu item Open in fullscreen allows you to switch to full screen mode for viewing the layout on the current screen.
As a result, the work area expands to fullscreen mode, the sidebar and top menu are hidden. In this case, all player controls and other functions are displayed.
To exit fullscreen mode, press the exit fullscreen mode button or the F11 hotkey.
You can also switch to fullscreen viewing of the current layout using the button on the toolbar.
Rename a layout
To rename a layout, hover over the desired layout. Click the right mouse button to open the context menu. Select the Rename layout menu item.
As a result, a form for entering a new layout name will be displayed.
Enter a new name and click Rename.
Add a layout to a group
The function enables you to add a layout to a custom layout group.
After selecting a menu item, a form for selecting the group to which the layout should be moved is displayed.
The list contains only groups that have no child groups.
Select a group and click Add.
As a result, the layout will be added to the specified group. In this case, the layout will also be displayed in the All layouts group.
A layout can only be in one group and can’t be duplicated in the others (except for the All layouts group).
Delete layout
To delete a layout, move the cursor over the desired layout. Click the right mouse button to open the context menu. Select the Delete layout menu item and confirm deletion.
Add a layout to favorites
Adding a layout to favorites:
Shifts the layout to the top of the All layouts list.
Automatically adds the layout to the Favorites
To add a layout to favorites, select the star icon of a relevant layout and update the list of layouts.
To remove the check mark, select the icon of the layout and update the layouts list.
Groups of layouts: add, fill, and delete
It is possible to combine layouts into groups. It is also possible to add child groups.
At the beginning of the list there is a group All layouts», which cannot be deleted. The group contains all user-created layouts.
Adding a layout group
To add a group of layouts, click the icon.
As a result, a window for entering the group name will be displayed.
If required, you can select layouts to be added to this group.
Enter a name for the group. The name must be unique. Next, click Create group.
Adding a layout to a group
While creating a group, in addition to adding layouts to a layout group, there are the following options:
By dragging a layout into a group.
Via the layout context menu when selecting Add layout to group.
Open the All Layouts group. Call the layout context menu and select Add layout to group. As a result, the group selection form will be displayed.
The list contains only groups that have no child groups.
Select a group and click Add.
As a result, the layout will be added to the specified group. In this case, the layout will also be displayed in the All layouts group.
A layout can only be in one group and not be duplicated in the others (except for the All layouts group).
Add a child group
A group can contain child groups.
There are two ways to add a child group:
Adding a new group as a child group via the group’s context menu when selecting Create Group.
By moving one group to another.
Call the group context menu and select Create group. As a result, a window for entering the group name will be displayed. The name must be unique. Enter a name and click Create group. As a result, a child group will be added to the selected group.
The second method is done by moving one group to another. Move the cursor over the group and hold down the left mouse button. Hover over the group you want to move the current group to and release the mouse button.
Removing a layout from a group
There are two ways to remove a layout from a group:
Via the group context menu when selecting Clear group. As a result, all layouts of the group will be deleted.
Through the context menu of the layout that has been added to the group, when selecting the Remove layout from group item. As a result, only the current layout will be deleted.
Layouts removed from a group appear in the All layouts group.
