Users can set up customizable push notifications for Analytics events on their mobile device. This functionality enables users to react to critical events on the go, straight from the smartphone. The app instantly alerts them the moment an event is detected.
The notifications setup can be applied to both selected Analytics cases added by users within the video surveillance platform and cameras with built-in analytics features.
How it works: users set up custom notifications in the mobile app, receive an automated push notification the moment a specific analytics event is detected. Tap a notification on a mobile device that takes the user straight to the Events tab in the mobile app to the corresponding event. From there, they can:
-
Review the footage in the video player, snap a quick screenshot, and instantly share it via messaging apps or save it to their mobile device. For details, refer to the Access details and management options for a detected event documentation section for relevant events:
-
See an "Event unavailable or deleted" message instead, which occurs if:
-
The corresponding analytics case was deleted along with its events.
-
Access to the camera was revoked.
-
The notification has expired (the expiration period is 24 hours).
-
Notifications will be deleted automatically if:
-
The user logs out of their account.
-
The user's session is terminated on another device.
General settings for Analytics-triggered push notifications
Notification functionality requires system-level permissions. When these permissions are missing, attempting to enable notifications will trigger the prompt to grant the app the required access to send notifications.
At the top right of the Events section that is accessible on both the Analytics and Camera events tabs, select the Gear icon
Under Notification settings, the user configures and manages how they receive alerts in the following sections:
-
Event notifications toggle to enable or disable all event-driven notifications.
-
Analytics events to select Analytics cases designated to trigger notifications upon event detection.
-
Built-in camera analytics to select cameras from which the user will receive notifications once events are detected by the camera built-in analytics functionality. This includes Agent-integrated cameras that feature built-in analytics functions.
-
Notifications schedule to set up schedule to receive notifications if required.
The Event notifications toggle
The Event notifications toggle allows users to enable or disable receipt of notifications when an event is detected.
-

-
Enables the Event notifications toggle.
-
Restores all previously saved settings (cases, cameras, and schedules).
-
Adds the selected case to the active cases list if it isn’t present.
