Alternative methods to create a case

The Desktop app provides an option to quickly add an Analytics case to cameras. Unlike the standard flow in the Analytics tab, this approach doesn’t require specifying detection areas or configuring parameters, as they are set by default. The default settings are listed below. The only exception is Line crossing detection, which must be additionally manually configured.

Cases for the following Analytics types can only be created and edited in the Web app. Once created in the Web app, they are automatically synchronized with the Desktop app: the cases appear in the lists, and their detected events are displayed in the Events section along with other Analytics events. However, users cannot view case details or edit these cases from within the Desktop app.

You can quickly add a case in one of the following ways.

  • From All cameras, select a camera to add a case and call out the actions menu. Next, Add videoanalytics to camera and choose a relevant Analytics type for the case.

  • In the Analytics type selection list, only types with available licenses are shown to the user. To verify license availability, go to the Analytics > Licenses tab.

  • License limit reached. An Analytics case cannot be created when the number of cameras on the layout exceeds your available licenses.

Upon selection of an Analytics type (applicable to all except Line crossing detection), the system initiates automatic case creation and subsequently issues a confirmation of successful action.

Line crossing detection. When this type is selected for the case, you need to manually modify the virtual lines for the case. When the case is simultaneously applicable to all cameras in the layout, ensure that the lines are adjusted for each camera separately. Once all the settings are adjusted, complete the case creation with Create.
