FAQ. Access control

What is the Access control service on the VSaaS platform?

Access control is a cloud service on the VSaaS platform that provides centralized management of access to a designated area. Administrators can manage the service from each location's interface. The service brings together access equipment management, user access configuration, access settings, and event monitoring in a single interface, regardless of the type or manufacturer of the connected equipment. For details, refer to the Access control service on VSaaS platform documentation section.

What is an Access point?

At the foundation of Access control is the Access point – it is a logical instance on the platform that connects a physical access zone on-site with the equipment responsible for controlling entry or exit through that zone. A single location may feature multiple access points, such as those designated for entry, exit, vehicle entrance, or vehicle exit. For more information about access points and their types, see Access point: types and connected devices.

How does the user manage access to the premises?

The administrator associates the user with access point devices and configures the required settings. Once configured, the user only needs a smartphone with the mobile app installed to enter or drive onto the premises. The user can manage access through the mobile app: open the door using the intercom, use a BLE key, or control other devices from the Access point widget and the Access tab. For more information, see the User guide. Access point documentation.

What access control devices does the platform support?

The VSaaS platform supports integration with various access control devices, including smart intercoms, BLE-based mobile keyless access systems, and various types of access control hardware. For more information, see the Supported devices. Access point documentation.
