This documentation section describes the main steps an administrator takes to work with the Access control service and its key components: access points, associated devices, and users.
The VMS Administrator cabinet provides a unified interface for configuring and managing the Access control service. Administrators create and configure access points, connect devices to them, configure user access, and monitor equipment operation.
In the Administrator cabinet, administrators perform the following tasks:
-
Assign the permissions administrators need to work with access points.
-
Create and manage access points.
-
Add access control devices to the platform, configure them, and associate them with access points.
-
Grant users access to devices associated with access points.
-
Monitor license usage for access points and associated devices.
Administrator permissions
To manage the Access point instance on the platform, an administrator must have the appropriate permissions from the Access points permission group. This permission group defines the actions an administrator can perform with access points, including managing device associations.
The permission group provides access point management capabilities and allows administrators to configure relationships between equipment and access points on the platform. It includes the following permissions:
-
View the access point list
-
View an access point
-
Create an access point
-
Update an access point
-
Manage access to an access point from an additional location
-
Delete an access point
-
Manage device associations with an access point
-
Transfer an access point between branches
Assign these permissions in the administrator profile or through an administrator role. For more information about assigning permissions to an administrator, see the Administrators and Administrator roles documentation sections.
Access point: create and manage
Access point license: A separate license is required to create an access point. This license is independent of other platform licenses, and its type must match the type of the access point being created. Before creating an access point, an administrator can check whether the required license is available in System > Clients and licensing > Licenses. For more information, see the Licenses documentation section for administrators. For detailed information about access point licensing, see the Access point licensing documentation section.
In the administrator cabinet, Access control is integrated into the Platform tree – a centralized management hub for the main services available at each site. This solution combines access control and video surveillance within a single location profile.
-
Video surveillance: a section for managing video surveillance cameras at the location.
-
Access control: a section for managing the location's Access points and the devices associated with them for pedestrian and vehicle access. Each location can include any number of access points of different types. In this section, an administrator manages access to the location through its access points:
-
Manage access points: create, edit, and delete them.
-
Manage devices at an access point: associate, configure, and disassociate them.
-
Monitor user access: view the list of users who have access to a specific access point, including the device they use. Note: To configure user access, associate the user profile with a specific device installed at the required access point. An administrator configures this association directly in the device profile.

Documentation
-
For information about access point types, see the Access point types documentation section.
-
For detailed administrator instructions on creating and managing an Access point on the platform, see the Access control administrator documentation section.
-
For information about Access point users, including how to configure associations and permissions, see the section below.
Access point users: configure associations and permissions
To provide a user with access through a specific access point, an administrator performs the following two steps:
-
Associate the user account with an access control device. Associate the user profile with a specific device installed at the required access point. An administrator configures this association directly in the device card on the platform. Supported devices include intercoms, BLE devices, and actuators. For detailed information about managing and configuring each device type, see the Supported devices. Access pointdocumentation section.
Information about a user's access point associations and available devices is displayed in the user profile card on the Access points tab. The tab lists the devices assigned to the user and the corresponding access points. For detailed information about the user profile card, see the Users section of the administrator documentation.
-
Assign personal permissions to a specific user for the device type used for pedestrian or vehicle access. An administrator assigns these permissions in Administration > Users > User profile:
-
Intercom: Intercoms > View intercoms
-
BLE device: BLE devices > View BLE devices
-
Actuator: Actuators > View actuators
-
For detailed information about assigning permissions to users created by an administrator, see the User profile for an administrator-created user documentation section.
For detailed information about assigning permissions to users created through billing, see the User profile for a billing-created user documentation section.
How the user gets access
Once the administrator completes all required configuration, the user can access the location using a smartphone with the mobile app installed.
The user manages access through the mobile app – opens a door using an intercom, uses a BLE key, or interacts with other devices associated with the access point. For more information about user access, see the User guide. Access point documentation section.
Manage devices on the platform
In addition to managing devices directly from access points, the administrator cabinet provides the Devices section. The Devices section centralizes device management across the platform. Here, an administrator can view the complete list of devices, monitor their status and key parameters, and manage their associations with access points and users.
The section also allows administrators to track changes to the device inventory, including device additions and removals, view device information, and quickly find devices using search and filters.
Supported devices:
-
Intercoms
-
BLE devices
-
Actuators
For detailed information about managing and configuring each device type, see the Supported devices. Access point documentation section.
In the Devices section, an administrator can perform the following tasks:
-
Add devices to the platform.
-
Remove devices from the platform.
-
View the complete list of devices, including devices added to and removed from the platform.
-
View device status and key parameters.
-
Associate devices with access points and disassociate them from access points.
-
Associate user profiles with devices.
For detailed instructions on managing devices on the platform, see the Devices. Administrator cabinet documentation section.
Manage licenses
The System > Clients and licensing > Licenses section allows an administrator to view license statistics:
-
Access points: the number of licenses already in use, the number available, and their distribution by access point type.
-
Access point devices: license statistics for each device type.
For detailed information for administrators, see the Licenses documentation section.
For more information about the access point parameters that require licenses, see theLicensing. Access point documentation section.
