The list of additional locations is informational and organizes data on which locations each access point serves.
Example: barrier gate and several residential buildings
For example, consider a courtyard equipped with a vehicle entry barrier used by residents across three neighboring buildings located at the following addresses:
-
Address 1
-
Address 2
-
Address 3
In the system, the Drive-in access point is created for the location at Address 1. The administrator then adds Address 2 and Address 3 as additional locations for this access point.
This list doesn’t grant residents automatic access to the barrier gate – access must still be configured separately for the access point devices. However, the administrator can now see which buildings are associated with this barrier, making it easier to determine which residents need to be granted access and which do not need access.
Add an additional location
To view and manage the list of additional locations, the administrator must be granted the corresponding permission from the Access points permission group.
To add an additional location, select Add location.
In the opened form, select the additional location. Locations that are already additionally added to the current access point are automatically filtered out. Select Add.
Once successfully added:
-
The system grants access to the access point from the new location.
-
The system displays a notification stating that the location is successfully added.
-
The added location appears in the list under the Additional locations section.
-
An Access control section for the selected location is generated if it didn’t exist previously.
-
The Platform tree and general lists display a special icon
next to this access point.
-
The system records an event in Logging > User actions > Administrators named Grant access to the access point from an additional location, including the administrator login, access point UUID, and added location UUID.
Delete an additional location
To delete an additional location, select the Delete icon next to the additional location address and confirm the deletion.
As a result:
-
Access to the access point from this location is revoked.
-
The system displays a notification stating that the location is successfully deleted.
-
The location no longer appears in the list under the Additional locations section.
-
If the deleted location was the last one in the list of additional addresses (meaning the access point no longer has any external associations), the Shared access icon disappears.
-
The system records an event in Logging > User actions > Administrators named Delete access to the access point from an additional location, including the administrator login, access point UUID, and added location UUID.
