When is the Bridge device required and how to purchase it?
The Bridge device serves as one of the connection methods for video cameras to the video surveillance service. Typically, Bridge applies to organizing video surveillance at sites that provide only internet access without the possibility of direct equipment connection to the video surveillance platform. The video surveillance provider determines the need for the Bridge device based on the technical characteristics of the site and the selected connection scheme. The provider also establishes the delivery and purchase procedure for the device within a specific connection project. For detailed information about the Bridge device and its purpose, see the Overview of the Bridge device documentation page.
What cameras are compatible with the Bridge device?
The Bridge device provides flexible and reliable connection to a wide range of IP surveillance cameras, ensuring compatibility with equipment from various manufacturers.
How to connect cameras to the Bridge device?
The video surveillance user connects the cameras independently. Detailed instructions are available on the Bridge user guide documentation page.
Are there limits on the number of cameras connected to the Bridge device?
The Bridge device discovers an unlimited number of cameras on the local network. However, an administrative limit applies to connecting to the video surveillance platform: a single Bridge device connects a maximum of 8 cameras. The video surveillance system administrator sets this limit. Detailed information on connecting cameras is available on the Connect cameras to the Bridge device documentation page.
What to do if the Bridge does not discover a camera?
In this case, use the Discover cameras function or Add a camera manually options. This functionality is available in the video surveillance web user interface on the Devices > Bridges > Camera tab. Detailed instructions are available on the Bridges web user documentation page.
Bridge camera doesn’t play video. What to do?
If you encounter an issue with missing video from cameras connected via the Bridge, perform the following steps in the specified order:
Restart the device. First, restart the Bridge device: disconnect the Bridge power supply from the electrical outlet. Reconnect the device to the power network. Wait for the complete startup process (usually takes 1 to 3 minutes) and check video.
Contact technical support. If the issue persists, contact technical support. To expedite the resolution, specialists may request device logs. The user exports the logs through the Bridge device web interface.
Camera recording configuration and storage
The system supports a hybrid data storage model. Under normal conditions, video is recorded directly to the VSaaS cloud. If the internet connection is lost, the system automatically switches to local SD card storage (up to 64 GB). After the network connection is restored, the Bridge device automatically synchronizes the locally stored archive with the cloud platform, ensuring continuous recording and complete data integrity. For detailed recording configuration information, see the Bridge video archive recording: cloud and local storage documentation page.
Does camera connectivity persist after an IP address change?
Yes. The camera connection through Bridge to the video surveillance system remains active. Cameras that use DHCP for dynamic IP address assignment can receive a new IP address, for example, after network equipment restarts. Bridge automatically monitors such changes. If the camera has an active ONVIF profile, Bridge identifies the camera, updates the RTSP stream URLs, and restores the connection automatically. This eliminates the need for manual reconfiguration and ensures continuous video streaming without administrator or user involvement. For technical requirements and limitations, see the Connect cameras to the Bridge device documentation page.
How to check the Bridge internet connection status?
Check the internet connection status through the Bridge web interface on the Connection tab. For detailed information, see the Bridge web interface documentation section.
How to configure time settings on the Bridge device?
Configure time settings through the Bridge web interface on the Time tab. For detailed information, see the Bridge web interface documentation section.
How to reset the Bridge device to factory settings?
Reset the Bridge device settings to factory defaults through the Bridge web interface. For detailed information, see the Bridge web interface documentation section.
Which devices are compatible with Bridge?
Currently, Bridge supports IP cameras. Support for additional device types, including BLE devices and smart intercoms, is planned for future releases.
