Administrators

The Administrators section lists the administrators who manage the system.

You can search for an administrator by login or name.

The Administrators list provides oversight into account creation. Each administrator profile displays the name and login of the admin who originally registered them in the system. If the higher-level administrator who created the account is subsequently removed from the system, their specific details will be replaced by a dash (—).

On this page, you can perform the following actions:

  • Add an administrator account.

  • View, edit, and delete existing administrator accounts.

  • Mass password reset for administrator accounts.

Mass password reset

For centralized password management, the Reset passwords button is available at the top‑right corner of the Administrators page. This button enables simultaneous password resets for all administrator accounts, excluding the one initiating the action.

Visibility of the Reset passwords button is controlled by the permission Administrators > Reset administrator passwords.

Password reset behavior:

  • After a password reset, administrators are redirected to the login page to enter a new password.

  • If any administrators are logged in at the time of the reset, they are forcibly signed out and redirected to the login page to re‑authenticate.

Add an administrator account

To create a new administrator account, follow the steps:

  1. Select the Add Admin button.

  1. On the page that opens:

  • Enter a full name, login, and password.

  • The Password lifetime toggle allows setting a password expiration period in days. When managing an administrator account, you can update the setting from the Change password tab.

  • In the Role section, you can assign roles to the administrator. The field is optional. Role is a preset collection of permissions. Roles are configured in the Administrator roles section. Role behavior: Selecting a role automatically enables its permissions in Access levels, which can then be fine‑tuned manually by the administrator. When multiple roles are selected, all permissions included in those roles are automatically enabled. For example, if a Cameras role is created for camera access only and an Intercoms role for intercom access only, selecting both will grant the administrator access to both systems.

  • The Individual access toggle is a setting that restricts an administrator's system rights.

    • On: the administrator can only view and manage data they created, along with data from their direct reports (users and sub-administrators lower in the hierarchy). All other data remains hidden. Actions within this accessible scope are still governed by the permissions set in the admin profile.

    • Off: the system operates in standard mode, providing access to all system data within the scope of assigned permissions.

    • Role-based logic. The status of this setting also depends on the roles the administrator is assigned. Automatic activation – if at least one assigned role has Individual access enabled, the setting will be turned on for that administrator. Automatic deactivation: If the setting is disabled across all assigned roles, it will remain off in the administrator's profile. Manual override: once roles are assigned, you retain the ability to manually toggle the setting on or off within the individual administrator's profile.

  • Under Access levels, select permissions to specific functions.

  • Under Cameras for administration, configure access to cameras, intercoms, and media server groups in the relevant sections:

    • Available cameras lists top-level branches of the camera tree. Access is managed at the branch level – selecting a specific branch automatically grants permissions for all cameras nested within that hierarchy.     • Available intercoms lists top-level branches of the intercom tree. Access is managed at the branch level – selecting a specific branch automatically grants permissions for all intercoms nested within that hierarchy. For details on the camera tree management, see the Intercom tree view documentation page.

    • Available MSE groups lists the mediaserver groups. Selecting a specific group automatically grants permissions for all mediaservers nested in it. For details on how to manage mediaserver groups, refer to the Mediaserver groups documentation page.

The description of Available MSE groups functionality is provided below.

  1. Select the Create button.

Once the account is saved, the assigned role isn’t displayed in the Role field.

View administrator information

To view information about an administrator, open the Administrators list and select the respective row in the table.

As a result, details will be displayed grouped on the following tabs:

  • On the General information tab, you can edit a name, login, role, access level, and cameras for administration.

  • On the Change password tab, you can manage a password and its expiration.

  • On DHCP Groups tab, you can manage DHCP pool groups for the administrator.

The selection of DHCP pool groups can also be assigned when managing a DHCP pool group. For details, refer to the DHCP subnet groups section.

  • The Accounts tab displays all user and administrator accounts created by the current administrator. A search function is available to find entries by login or name. Select any row to view the full user or administrator profile.

Individual access

The Individual access toggle is a setting that restricts an administrator's system rights. When it’s On, the administrator can only view and manage data they created, along with data from their direct reports (users and sub-administrators lower in the hierarchy).

Access to the other sections (Provisioning, Documents, System Settings and others) falls under the granted access levels.

Access to mediaservers

If an administrator is granted access to one or more mediaserver groups, they gain the following rights:

  • Access to all clusters included in the group

  • Access to all mediaservers within those clusters

  • Access to standalone mediaservers not included in any cluster

  • Access to standalone mediaservers not linked to groups or clusters

  • Access to standalone clusters not associated with any group

If no mediaserver groups are assigned, the administrator is granted the following rights:

  • Access to standalone mediaservers not included in clusters

  • Access to standalone mediaservers not linked to groups or clusters

  • Access to standalone clusters not associated with any group

The camera isn’t assigned to a mediaserver group:

i. Subnets are configured within mediaserver groups.

a. The camera IP address is within the distribution range of mediaservers accessible to the administrator:

  • With available mediaservers, streams can be added by the administrator.

  • If there are no free or active mediaservers, stream addition results in an error.

b. The camera IP address is within the distribution range of mediaservers that isn’t accessible to the administrator:

  • With available mediaservers, stream addition results in an error. The administrator is notified that no free servers are available.

  • If there are no free or active mediaservers, stream addition results in an error. The administrator is notified that no free servers are available.

ii. Subnets aren’t configured within mediaserver groups.

  • With available mediaservers, streams can be added by the administrator.

  • If there are no free or active mediaservers, stream addition results in an error.

The camera is assigned to a mediaserver group:

i. Subnets are configured within mediaserver groups.

  • With available mediaservers, streams can be added by the administrator.

  • If there are no free or active mediaservers, stream addition results in an error.

ii. Subnets aren’t configured within mediaserver groups.

  • With available mediaservers, streams can be added by the administrator.

  • If there are no free or active mediaservers, stream addition results in an error.

Stream information display for a camera added by a different administrator. If the administrator has access to view a camera but doesn’t have access to the mediaserver hosting its streams, only the address of that mediaserver is displayed. When the administrator attempts to view information about this mediaserver, a page opens with the message: Access to the mediaserver is restricted.

Transfer of streams.

Subnets are configured within mediaserver groups:

  • The camera IP address is within the distribution range of mediaservers accessible to the administrator: clusters available to the administrator are shown for stream transfer.

  • The camera IP address is within the distribution range of mediaservers that isn’t accessible to the administrator: an attempt to transfer streams displays the Insufficient access rights message.

Subnets aren’t configured within mediaserver groups:

  • No free clusters or mediaservers are available to the administrator. A corresponding error message is displayed.

Cameras section > Incorrect cameras subsection

On the Incorrect, Problematic, and Disconnected tabs, the administrator can view cameras that they have access to. If those cameras are hosted on a mediaserver the administrator cannot access, only the server address is displayed, without the option to view its settings.

The page lists mediaservers available to the administrator. Accessible servers are defined as follows:

  • Mediaservers that belong to groups accessible to the administrator.

  • Mediaservers that are not part of any clusters or groups.

  • Mediaservers that belong to clusters, which are not added to groups.

Search is performed only among media servers available to the administrator.

  • The page lists mediaservers available to the administrator.

  • Search is performed only among media servers available to the administrator.

The following clusters are displayed:

  • Clusters that belong to groups accessible to the administrator.

  • Clusters that aren’t included in any group.

During cluster creation or viewing, only media servers accessible to the administrator are listed.

During creation or viewing of an administrator account, only mediaserver groups are listed that the administrator can access.

Analytics section > Analytics module subsection

The list shows mediaserver groups the administrator can access.

They are listed:

  • On the Stream processing services tab > Location

  • On the Regions tab, under Select mediaserver group for region

Report section > Report on channels load of the mediaservers

The downloaded report includes only mediaservers and clusters that the administrator has access to.

  • Mediaserver groups that the administrator has access to.

  • Standalone mediaservers that aren’t included in groups or clusters.

Report section > Report on Cameras

When choosing parameters for generating the report based on Mediaservers, the filters will contain:

  • The Groups filter will display only mediaservers the administrator has access to.

  • The Clusters filter will display only mediaserver clusters the administrator has access to.

  • The Servers filters will display only mediaserver clusters the administrator has access to, standalone or within a cluster or a group.

The downloaded report:

  • Includes only mediaservers the administrator has access to.

  • Mediaservers hosting cameras are excluded from the report when the administrator has access to the cameras but not to the servers themselves.

The downloaded report includes:

  • Mediaserver groups the administrator has access to.

  • Standalone mediaservers that aren’t included in groups or clusters.

The downloaded report includes:

  • Mediaserver groups the administrator has access to.

The downloaded report includes the total number of mediaservers added to the system, regardless of administrator restrictions.

On the System events tab > Media servers subtab lists events related to the mediaservers the administrator has access to.

Dashboard

The Dashboard contains information related to the mediaservers included into groups the administrator has access to.

Access levels

Administrators

  • Receive all reports grants the right to access the Reports section. Allows generating all report types according to assigned permissions and viewing the list of all system reports generated by all users.

  • Receive personal reports grants the right to access the Reports section. Allows generating and exporting reports containing data accessible only to that specific administrator, restricting other employees from viewing this information.

When both permissions are enabled, all reports are available to the administrator.

Automatic data synchronization

  • Sync root tree elements to user when enabled, parent elements in the camera and intercom tree created by other administrators are automatically added for this administrator. If disabled, the administrator can only view the parent elements and their nested components that were specifically assigned to them by another administrator during account creation or editing.

    • If both this setting and Individual access are enabled, the administrator will automatically receive the parent elements of the intercom tree created by administrators they themselves created.

  • Sync root elements of media server groups. Enabling this permission automatically grants the administrator access to all media server groups and their child elements created by other users. If disabled, the administrator can only access the specific groups assigned to them.
