Licensing model

The intercom panel and intercom camera functionality is provided under separate licenses with the corresponding licensing parameters.

Using intercom panel functionality requires both an Intercoms license and an Intercom.Vendors license.

The Intercom.AnalogSupport license is additionally required for panels connected using a configuration that supports an analog handset.

The Intercom.Cameras license is independent and determines whether intercom cameras can be used. It does not depend on the Intercoms, Intercom.Vendors, or Intercom.AnalogSupport licenses.

Usage rules

Intercom panel

Adding an intercom panel instance requires an available Intercoms license. If no license is available, the platform blocks adding a new intercom panel regardless of the method used to add it, its properties, characteristics, or panel type.
The Intercoms license limits the maximum number of intercom panels connected to the platform.
Adding one intercom panel instance consumes 1 license.
When an intercom panel is deleted, the Intercoms license allocated to it is released and becomes available for reuse according to the licensing rules.

Supported panel type

Adding an intercom panel of a new type requires an available Intercom.Vendors license.
The panel type is identified by a unique combination of the vendor and panel type.
Registering multiple panels of the same type consumes only 1 Intercom.Vendors license. The license is counted once for each unique vendor + panel type combination.
The Intercom.Vendors license is counted only when an Intercoms license is available.
When an intercom panel is deleted and no other panels with the same vendor + panel type combination remain in the system, the allocated Intercom.Vendors license is released and becomes available for reuse.

Analog handset connection support

The Intercom.AnalogSupport license is used for intercom panels connected using a configuration that supports an analog handset.
Changing a panel between connection configurations that support an analog handset does not change the number of allocated licenses.
When the connection configuration changes to one that does not support an analog handset, the allocated Intercom.AnalogSupport license is released and becomes available for reuse.
When an intercom panel is deleted, the Intercom.AnalogSupport license allocated to it is released.

Intercom camera

Using a camera as part of an intercom requires an available Intercom.Cameras license.
The Intercom.Cameras license limits the maximum number of cameras marked as belonging to an intercom.
Marking a camera as belonging to an intercom consumes 1 Intercom.Cameras license.
When the intercom association is removed from a camera, the allocated Intercom.Cameras license is released. The camera is then counted against video surveillance camera licenses according to the general licensing rules.
When a camera is deleted without retaining the archive, the allocated Intercom.Cameras license is released immediately.
When a camera is deleted while retaining the archive, the Intercom.Cameras license remains allocated until the archive becomes unavailable. Once access to the archive is lost, the license is automatically released and becomes available for reuse.

The license is counted as used when an intercom panel of a new type is added to the VMS platform. The panel type is defined by the unique combination of the vendor and panel type values.

If a panel with the same combination of values is already registered on the platform, no additional license is used. The license is counted once for each unique vendor–panel type combination.

A camera that is not marked as belonging to an intercom must be counted under licenses with the Video surveillance cameras licensing parameter. When a camera marked as belonging to an intercom is removed from the VMS platform, the previously allocated license must be released based on whether the archive is retained for the removed camera: If the camera is removed without retaining the archive, the previously allocated license is released immediately and becomes available for reuse in accordance with the licensing rules. If the camera is removed with the archive retained, the previously allocated license continues to be counted as used until the archive becomes unavailable. After the archive becomes unavailable, the license is automatically released and becomes available for reuse in accordance with the licensing rules.	Numeric (pcs)
