Video from cameras connected through the Bridge is available only to users who have access to view these cameras.
The video surveillance system administrator retains access to the camera technical parameters and status information, which allows equipment maintenance and diagnostics without access to video archives or live streams. This ensures video data privacy and prevents unauthorized viewing.
After successful camera integration with the video surveillance platform, users can view live video and archives, manage connected cameras and their settings through the platform web user interface, dedicated mobile application, and desktop client. This provides full control over video surveillance from any device.
Identify cameras
To quickly identify cameras, cameras added to the video surveillance system through the Bridge display a special icon
ONVIF services (additional camera features): PTZ, built-in analytics
For cameras connected to the video surveillance system through the Bridge using the ONVIF protocol, advanced camera management features are available:
-
PTZ control: remote pan, tilt, and zoom control.
-
Receive built-in analytics events: motion detection; configuration changes; image quality changes, such as excessive darkening.
Configure and manage ONVIF camera services through the video surveillance web user interface in the Devices > Bridges > Selected camera > ONVIF services tab. The user selects which built-in camera services to activate or deactivate.
For more information about managing ONVIF services for Bridge cameras, see the Bridges documentation section in the video surveillance web user guide.
The list of ONVIF services displayed in the video surveillance system web user interface depends on the camera model, firmware version, and supported hardware capabilities.
The ONVIF services tab displays only the features that the camera supports and that are enabled in the camera web interface. If a required option is unavailable, make sure that the option is enabled in the camera settings. For information about how to use the camera web interface and enable features, see the device manufacturer documentation.
Web user interface
-
Cameras connected through the Bridge are available in the same video surveillance web user interface sections as other system cameras. This provides a consistent approach to viewing, managing, and accessing video regardless of the connection method. For more information, see the Cameras. Web user documentation section.
-
In the Devices > Bridges section, the user connects Bridge cameras to the video surveillance system, configures video archive recording settings for each camera, and manages ONVIF settings. For more information, see the Bridge documentation section for the video surveillance web user interface.
Desktop client
-
Cameras connected through the Bridge are available in the same video surveillance desktop application sections as other system cameras. This provides a consistent approach to viewing, managing, and accessing video regardless of the connection method. For more information, see the Desktop client documentation section.
Mobile application
-
Cameras connected through the Bridge are available in the same mobile application sections as other video surveillance system cameras. To simplify camera navigation for edge devices, the All cameras tab groups cameras by Bridge device: cameras connected through the same Bridge appear in a group with the Bridge name. For more information about viewing cameras, see the Cameras (Android, iOS) documentation section for the mobile application user.
-
In the Other > My devices > Bridges section, the user can view information about connected Bridge devices and associated cameras. For more information, see the Bridge documentation section for the mobile application user.
