BLE device

The VSaaS platform supports integration with BLE controllers (Bluetooth Low Energy), providing a reliable and modern solution for managing access to premises and allowing users to use a smartphone as a digital key.

BLE technology (Bluetooth Low Energy) is a low-power wireless communication technology that allows a smartphone to function as a digital key. The system controller automatically detects the smartphone over Bluetooth, allowing users to enter or drive onto the premises without any additional action. The smartphone can remain in a pocket or bag, and the access point unlocks automatically.

Use cases

BLE devices manage access to various infrastructure objects of a residential complex or commercial territory. The most common application scenarios include:

  • Automatic opening of barriers and entrance gates

  • Keyless access through entrance doors

  • Calling elevators and granting elevator access

  • Opening of vestibule, technical, and other restricted-access doors

BLE controllers increase user convenience, reduce passage or drive-through time, and provide secure contactless access without physical keys, cards, or key fobs. For more information, see the BLE devices documentation section.

How it works

The entire access management process is simple and transparent for everyone involved:

  • Administrator adds the BLE device to the required access point through the administrator panel. The administrator also configures access settings and issues permanent or temporary digital keys to users. The system provides real-time information about the status of issued keys, including whether and when a key has been used. Active keys can be revoked instantly, helping maintain site security without additional effort. For detailed information about configuring BLE access, see the BLE device. Administrator guide documentation page.

  • Users automatically receive the keys issued by the administrator in the mobile application and can use them immediately from the Access tab or widget. The user can choose the preferred way to unlock an access point with a BLE key:

    • Automatic opening (hands-free): the user approaches a door, elevator, or barrier – the system controller automatically identifies the smartphone by its Bluetooth signal and opens the door or barrier instantly. The user does not need to take the smartphone out of a bag or pocket.

    • One-tap opening (manual control): the user opens the required door or barrier by selecting a button in the app interface, either through the widget or on the Access tab, exactly when access is needed. This option is ideal when the user frequently often pass by entrances without going through them on the premises. Manual control prevents accidental lock openings when the user moves around the area, while providing full control over access.

Advantages of BLE

  • Use a smartphone instead of a physical key
The user uses a smartphone as a digital key – no cards, key fobs, or additional devices are required.

  • Centralized management
The administrator issues, updates, and revokes digital keys through the platform. Changing access rights does not require issuing or replacing physical credentials.

  • Contactless access
In automatic unlock mode, the user does not need to take out the smartphone or interact with the app. The system controller identifies the smartphone over Bluetooth and unlocks the connected device.

  • Convenient vehicle access
BLE is particularly convenient for barriers and gates. The user does not need to look for a key fob or smartphone before entering the premises – access can open automatically when the user approaches.

  • Permanent or temporary access
The administrator can issue a digital key for a specific period. This is useful for employees, contractors, guests, and other users who need access only for a specified period.

  • Usage monitoring
The administrator can monitor the status of digital keys and information about their use, which helps control granted access.

  • Energy-efficient technology
BLE uses Bluetooth Low Energy, a low-power data transmission technology suitable for continuous use of a smartphone as a digital key.
