This page explains how end users can use a smartphone as a BLE key to access premises and manage access through the mobile application.

BLE technology (Bluetooth Low Energy) allows a smartphone to function as a digital key. The system controller automatically detects the smartphone over Bluetooth, allowing the user to enter or drive onto the premises without any additional action. The smartphone can remain in a pocket or bag, and access opens automatically.

How the user gets access through a BLE device

The administrator performs the initial setup by granting the user the required permissions and associating the user's account with the BLE device at the access point by issuing a BLE key.

Once the setup is complete, the user only needs a smartphone with the mobile application installed and Bluetooth enabled to enter or drive onto the premises. The BLE key issued by the administrator automatically becomes available in the application and is ready to use.

The user can manage the BLE key settings and use the key to access the premises through the access point associated with the key.

Configure a BLE key through an access point

In the mobile application, an access point represents the property address, the access point name, and the devices associated with that access point and available to the user.

For quick identification, the access point displays a dedicated BLE icon , indicating that BLE access is supported.

Configure a BLE key

The user can choose the preferred way to unlock an access point with a BLE key:

• • Automatic opening (hands-free): the user approaches a door, elevator, or barrier – the system controller automatically identifies the smartphone by its Bluetooth signal and opens the door or barrier instantly. The user does not need to take the smartphone out of a bag or pocket.

• • One-tap opening (manual control): the user opens the required door or barrier by selecting a button in the app interface, either through the widget or on the Access tab, exactly when access is needed. This option is ideal when the user frequently often pass by entrances without going through them on the premises. Manual control prevents accidental lock openings when the user moves around the area, while providing full control over access.

How to use a BLE key

The user can choose the most convenient way to access premises using BLE.

Automatic BLE opening

When the user approaches a door, elevator, or barrier, the system automatically identifies the user's smartphone by its Bluetooth signal and opens the access point. The user does not need to take the smartphone out of a pocket or bag. For detailed instructions on configuring a BLE key, see the BLE device documentation section.

Manual opening

• The Access tab in the mobile application provides a complete list of available access points and devices. The user can unlock an access point using the Open button or select a specific device for access. For detailed instructions, see the Access documentation page for the mobile app.

• The Access point widget provides quick access from the smartphone home screen. The user can unlock the required door, gate, or barrier with one tap on the Open button without opening the application.
